Christa Elmer is a Swiss artist based in Mallorca whose work explores the intersection between music and visual art. Raised on a farm in Switzerland, she developed from an early age a deep sensitivity to nature, learning to observe its rhythms, subtle changes, and the silent forces that shape the invisible. This profound connection to the natural world continues to inform her artistic language.

Originally known as a jazz singer, Elmer returned to painting during the lockdown period, rediscovering it as an essential and powerful form of expression. She paints as she sings — guided by instinct, rhythm, and the improvisational spirit of jazz.

Working primarily with ink, Elmer creates fluid compositions that translate invisible energies into expressive and meditative forms. Her work evokes movement, transformation, and renewal, inviting the viewer into a space where presence and spontaneity guide the creative process.

Her practice is deeply intuitive. Each piece unfolds organically, through a constant dialogue between control and surrender. Sound becomes image; music becomes gesture.

For Elmer, art and music are inseparable: both are ways of listening, interpreting, and giving shape to what cannot be seen.

Christa Elmer es una artista suiza afincada en Mallorca cuya obra explora la conexión entre la música y el arte visual. Conocida originalmente como cantante de jazz, retomó la pintura durante el confinamiento, abordándola con el mismo instinto, ritmo y espíritu improvisador que caracterizan su música.

Trabajando principalmente con tinta, Elmer crea composiciones fluidas y meditativas inspiradas en la naturaleza, el movimiento y las energías invisibles. Su práctica intuitiva transforma el sonido en gesto, invitando al espectador a un espacio de presencia, espontaneidad y transformación.
